AllNewUniverse.com's
Privacy and Security Statement

Purchasing online at AllNewUniverse.com is safe and secure. If you are receiving Security Warnings while at our site, your browser is either outdated or requires a security patch in order to accurately report secure sites to you. As technology evolves, some browser versions internal security certificates either become outdated or expire requiring users to upgrade or download "patches". Patches are small files users can download from the software company's Web site that modify or correct known bugs or issues requiring updates. It is always a good idea to have the latest version of your browser of choice in order to be able to keep up with technology changes.

Your right to privacy and security is of the utmost importance to AllNewUniverse.com. Our online order acceptance application is safe and secure protecting both your personal information and all credit card transactions.

AllNewUniverse.com guards your security and privacy through the measures outlined below.

Secure Transactions - How you can tell it is secure.

All purchase transactions take place on a secure server. Don't just take our word for it - it's simple to determine whether you are on a secure site using security-enabled Web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.1 or greater and Netscape Navigator version 2.0 or greater. (Click Here if your browser gives you security warnings.)

For example, on a secure page you will notice the following indicators that it is secure:

Using Netscape:

  • Your Location Bar should show a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) that uses an https: address, as opposed to an http: address.
  • The security lock icon (in 3.0 versions it's a key and in 4.0 versions it's a padlock in the lower left corner) should be a complete key or a lock in the locked position.

Using Internet Explorer:

  • Your Location Bar should show a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) that uses an https: address, as opposed to an http: address.
  • A security lock icon is displayed on the status bar at the bottom of your screen.

In addition, our order system utilizes industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology that encrypts any information that is transferred across the Internet from your computer to our servers and databases. The information that is encrypted includes:

  • Your name
  • Address, phone number and e-mail address
  • Personal information
  • Your credit card number

5.0 & Earlier Browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer Users

For those receiving security warnings using Internet Explorer 5.0 and under: Click on "Using Security Features" in Explorer's help index. You also need to review the available patches on the Microsoft site that you can download in order to have accurate security recognition at all secured sites.

Pre - 4.0 Browsers: Netscape Navigator 2,3 Users

AllNewUniverse.com's Secure Server uses a certificate issued by Thawte consulting. This identifies AllNewUniverse.com's order system as a valid, secure Internet site. Versions 2 and 3 of Netscape may not recognize some of the current security certificates online. This in no way means the transaction or server is not secure. You can upgrade your browser's security to the same level as that supported by 4.0 generation browsers right now or download the current browser versions as outlined below.

  1. Download the latest copy of Netscape from http://www.netscape.com. (Recommended, as it provides the most up to date and feature rich browser from Netscape. This load takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on your connection speed.)

    - OR -

  2. Load a replacement Thawte Site certificate by:
Deleting the old Thawte certificate and downloading the new one by:

  • Choosing Options
  • Choosing Security Preferences.
  • Select the "Site Certificates" tab. Find the entry marked "Thawte Server CA". Delete that certificate.
  • Close that dialog box.
  • Now, load the new site certificate by Clicking Here. Follow the instructions by clicking NEXT until finished. (don't forget to enter "Thawte Server CA" in the Nickname field). This certificate is identical to the last one, except that it is valid till 2020 and is the same as the certificate in Netscape 4.x. (This process takes approximately 3 minutes.)
